CJ is the COO of Waymaker Land Advisors & Surveyors, where she leads HR, people systems, team culture, and organizational development for our growing land services firm here in the Hill Country. CJ spent two decades rooted in college-level instruction, communication, mediation, and conflict resolution. Her specialties over the years have become leadership development, organizational strategy, and helping small businesses build high capacity teams.

With nearly two decades of surveying experience, Bryan Treiber serves as Waymaker's Vice President of Field Operations, where he leads field operations with steady leadership, technical expertise, and a genuine commitment to serving both clients and his team. A Texas Hill Country native, Bryan joined Waymaker in its earliest days and has been instrumental in helping shape the company into what it is today.

Bryan has a passion for uncovering the history of the land through deed research and enjoys helping families navigate some of life's most important decisions, from dividing generational ranches to protecting property rights for future generations. He believes every project deserves thorough research, precision, and clear communication, knowing that the work surveyors do today creates a lasting impact for those who come after.

When he's not in the field, Bryan enjoys hunting, fishing, cooking, and spending quiet time outdoors with his wife and two sons. Guided by his faith and a heart for serving others, Bryan leads by example and is committed to building a team that delivers exceptional work with integrity, professionalism, and care.

With more than a decade of experience in the surveying profession, Trenton Young serves as Waymaker's Project Surveyor & Director of Sales, helping clients navigate projects with confidence from the first conversation through final delivery. He is passionate about connecting clients with the right surveying solutions and believes the greatest measure of success is earning the “double thank you”, delivering a quality product that clients are genuinely happy to receive.

Originally from Corpus Christi and now raising his family in Fredericksburg, Trenton is driven by high standards, keeping commitments, and creating purposeful work. He believes surveyors play an essential role in locating, describing, and protecting land ownership, preserving one of Texas' most valuable assets for future generations.

Emily Read serves as the Director of Marketing & Integrations for Waymaker | Land Advisors & Surveyors, where she leads the company's marketing strategy, technology integrations, and business development initiatives. She also serves as Program Director for the Hill Country Developers Forum, a Waymaker initiative that brings together developers, industry professionals, and community leaders to foster thoughtful conversations about growth, land stewardship, and the future of the Texas Hill Country.

With more than 20 years of leadership experience in education, operations, and organizational development, Emily loves building systems that make life easier, creating meaningful connections, and helping organizations grow with purpose. Her background as an educator and administrator gives her a unique perspective that blends strategic thinking with clear communication and a people-first approach.

Outside the office, Emily is a devoted wife, mother of four, and proud "Emmy" to her grandchild. She is an active member of Bridge Church Fredericksburg, where she serves with the Catalyst Student Ministry. Whether she's collaborating with clients, planning community events, or cheering on her family, Emily leads with integrity, optimism, and a genuine heart for serving others.

Stephanie's lifelong passion for land stewardship led her from a career in conservation biology to professional land surveying. After earning degrees in Biology from UTSA and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, she joined her family's firm, Medina Valley Surveys, and became a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in 2020.

Now part of the Waymaker team, Stephanie specializes in Land Title Surveys for Conservation Easements, helping landowners preserve the natural beauty and legacy of their properties. She also serves in leadership roles supporting land conservation and education across Texas.

When she's not serving clients, you'll find Stephanie enjoying the outdoors with her husband, Patrick, daughters Lily and Mirabelle, and their many pets.

With more than four decades of surveying experience, Paul Carey has built a legacy of excellence serving Texas landowners. After founding Carey Land Surveying in 1986, he became President of Medina Valley Surveys in 2003, leading the firm until it joined the Waymaker family in 2026.

A passionate advocate for "boots on the ground" surveying, Paul has personally completed nearly 12,000 boundary surveys throughout his career. His dedication to the profession extends well beyond the field, having served as President of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS), a longtime educator, and recipient of the 2023 TSPS Surveyor of the Year award.

Paul's leadership, integrity, and commitment to mentoring the next generation continue to shape the surveying profession and strengthen the Waymaker team.

Chelsea Hoffmann joined Waymaker in May 2026 as a Project Coordinator, where she helps keep projects moving efficiently while ensuring clients receive a seamless experience from start to finish. She enjoys uncovering the history behind each property and finds it especially rewarding to see projects come full circle as final deliverables are completed.

Before joining Waymaker, Chelsea worked in Human Resources at Arch Ray. Although new to the surveying industry, she quickly embraced the opportunity to learn and was drawn to Waymaker after feeling compelled to look into the company while driving past the office one day. She appreciates Waymaker's commitment to excellence and the high standard the team sets for one another every day.

Originally from Stephenville, Texas, and born in Seminole, Chelsea now calls Fredericksburg home with her husband, whom she met one weekend dancing at Luckenbach. Together they have one energetic toddler, three dogs, two cats, and nine sheep, making life at home just as lively as the office.

Known for being loyal, goofy, and always ready for tacos, Chelsea enjoys reading and spending time with her family. She believes great customer service is built on being both personable and reliable, and one lesson she's learned early in her surveying career is simple: if someone says it's "easy," be prepared, it probably isn't.

With more than 13 years of experience in the surveying industry, Josiah Barcroft is passionate about delivering high-quality surveys and helping clients navigate complex land challenges. As Waymaker's Project Manager and UAV Pilot, he enjoys combining technical expertise with innovative solutions to produce accurate, dependable results.

Before joining Waymaker in 2024, Josiah worked as a Survey Project Manager and previously built a career in ranching and wildlife management, experiences that continue to shape his appreciation for the land and those who steward it. He believes every project is an opportunity to create a lasting, generational impact by providing clients with the knowledge they need to make confident decisions.

A South Texas native now living in San Antonio with his wife of 11 years and their four children, Josiah enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, construction, real estate development, and spending time with his family. His commitment to excellence, curiosity, and relentless pursuit of improvement make him a valued leader on the Waymaker team.

Garret has spent eight years in the surveying industry, joining Waymaker as a Survey Technician, S.I.T. Ask him what he loves most about the job and he'll tell you it's the paradox: every day looks the same, but the work itself is ever changing. Research is where he shines. He likes digging into the history behind a boundary before it ever gets staked in the ground.

Garret grew up in Northeast Texas and now calls Mason home, where he lives with his wife, their six children, and two hound mutts. Outside of work, you'll find him with a book in hand, music on, or knocking out projects around the house.

He describes himself as Christian, loyal, and friendly, and he means it. Ask anyone at Waymaker and they'll tell you the same. Garret was drawn here by the people first: hardworking, thorough, and willing to teach. He says the leadership at Waymaker has poured into his growth as a surveyor, and he's already looking forward to doing the same for someone else down the road.
His advice for anyone in this field: take the time now to be thorough and deliberate, so you save yourself from trouble later.

And when he talks about land, he doesn't talk about a lot of lines. He talks about it as the vehicle that turns a dream, whether it's a garden home in town or a ranch dotted with livestock and wildlife, into something real.

Fun fact: Garret has never been in an airplane he didn't jump out of.

CJ Lawton joined Waymaker in February 2026 as a Survey Technician after making a career transition from banking in pursuit of something new and more hands-on. He quickly discovered a passion for the variety of the profession, enjoying the opportunity to explore new places, meet new people, and solve complex boundary questions. One of his proudest accomplishments has been creating his first survey map entirely from data he collected himself.

Originally from Jackson, Wyoming, CJ now calls Fredericksburg, Texas, home with his fiancée and their dog. When he's not in the field, you'll likely find him skiing, hiking, camping, or planning his next outdoor adventure. A former marathon runner, CJ brings the same perseverance and discipline to his work that he once brought to long-distance races.

CJ believes exceptional customer service is rooted in attention to detail and going the extra mile to ensure every client receives the value they deserve. He especially values Waymaker's commitment to building genuine friendships and believes the land we steward today is part of the legacy we leave for future generations.

Whether he's watching the sunrise from a job site or helping resolve a challenging boundary, CJ enjoys the opportunity to make a lasting impact through his work and is proud to be part of the Waymaker team.

With more than 21 years of surveying experience, Brian Short brings a wealth of field knowledge, leadership, and a servant's heart to the Waymaker team. As the Field Party Chief, he is passionate about delivering quality work while investing in the next generation of surveyors. For Brian, one of the greatest rewards of the profession is teaching others in the field and watching them grow into successful professionals.

Before joining Waymaker, Brian worked as a surveyor for a road and bridge contractor, building extensive experience across a wide variety of surveying projects. He chose Waymaker because he immediately recognized something special in the team: a culture of integrity, collaboration, and people who genuinely care about serving others. He describes it as "the fragrance of Christ in the room" and values being part of a team focused on excellence and supporting one another.

Brian grew up in San Antonio and now lives in Lakehills, Texas, with his wife, Ashley, a fourth-grade teacher, and their daughter, Emily, an accomplished student-athlete active in volleyball, track, softball, FFA, and the National Junior Honor Society. Their home is also shared with two pugs, two horses, and a retired 4-H show lamb.

Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time with his family, studying Scripture and history, reading theology and classic literature, oil painting, running, and cooking together with his family. His favorite surveying advice is simple but timeless:

For Brian, land represents far more than property boundaries.
"Land is what I came from, what I'm called to work upon, and where I will one day return. All land belongs to God, and it's a gift to steward a portion of it for a time."
